Over the last couple of months a number of the PIU's members have asked my team to provide them with some inspiration as to how procurement can get more involved in revenue generation. So when I met with David Brown, CEO and Founder of Oxygen Finance, earlier in the month, I was keen to report back on his thoughts as to how procurement could move from the back office, focused on cost savings, to an income-earning front office function.
Having just read a press release from Docusign announcing an extension of their integration into Salesforce through the Salesforce ChatterExchange, I'm predicting that Ariba will follow in their steps within 6 months. Maybe even by the Ariba Live at the end of May. It would make a lot of sense being able to link procurement chatter into your Salesforce Chatter stream, providing sales teams updates on communications, RFI's etc from their customers. My head and gut tells me the integration would between Ariba's Supplier Network and Salesforce.
